The EdTechTeacher Palm Springs Summit is a unique learning experience that brings together tested and practical edtech strategies for the classroom, as well as thought leaders to explore what is next in education and edtech. From iPads & Chromebooks to Project Based Learning, Gamification, Virtual Reality and Coding, the EdTechTeacher Palm Springs Summit is the ideal event to learn, connect and share.
There are three unique strands in this year’s event, edtechNOW, edtechNEXT and edTHOUGHT. Each strand is focused on addressing a certain aspect of education and edtech. Whether you are interested in and focused on learning more about specific edtech tools and strategies or want to explore bigger ideas and approaches to edtech, the EdTechTeacher Palm Springs Summit is the ideal event.
Keynote and Featured Speakers
Michael Cohen, The Tech Rabbi is a designer and technologist turned educator. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator and a former Director of Education Technology, who advocates, speaks, writes, and facilitates workshops on scaling creativity and innovation. He works with schools on a local and national level to help them develop a creative mindset that can influence and empower individuals in becoming confident and passionate problem solvers. Michael shares his story of design and creativity through social media, and conferences, among them ISTE and SXSWEdu. He is the produces the “Educated By Design” Podcast and Vlog, where he shares insights, and features experts inspiring educators, students, and beyond to ideate, plan, and implement creative solutions to solving complex problems they face.

Tom Daccord has worked with schools, colleges and educational organizations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East as an educational technology speaker and instructor. He has authored three books and writes regularly for eSchool News.
An early adopter of mobile devices, Greg first integrated cell phones, and then iPads, into his high school history curricula. As an EdTechTeacher instructor, he works with schools across the country, presents at national conferences, and blogs regularly about the creative capabilities afforded by mobile devices. He officially coined the phrase “App Smashing,” is an authorized Google Education Trainer, and attended St. Anselm college in Manchester, NH.
Avra Robinson is an authorized Google Education Trainer and dedicated educational technologist who has been working with teachers and students for over 15 years. Prior to joining EdTechTeacher, Avra was the Instructional Technology Coordinator, coach and teacher for a K-8 school district in Northern Illinois. During that time, she worked with teachers and students on a daily basis as they worked toward total Common Core State Standards integration in a 1:1 program that included Chromebooks, iPads, and Windows laptops. Avra has presented at local and regional conferences sharing ideas about digital publishing, Google Apps for Education, and more.
A Google for Education Certified Trainer, former Director of Technology, and high school social studies classroom teacher, Ben has a passion for bringing creative technology integration into the classroom. Throughout his career, Ben has been able to work with teachers and administrators in bringing best technology practices into their schools and classrooms using iPads and Google Apps for Education.
As Director of Digital Learning at Bristol Warren Regional School District RI, EdTechTeacher Instructor, authorized Google for Education Trainer, author and speaker, Tom is recognized nationally as a leader in helping teachers, schools and districts transform teaching and learning with technology.
Anissa Labrador is a dedicated lifelong educator who is never satisfied with status quo and is always looking for her next opportunity to learn. She strives to inspire teachers to embrace change, learn by making mistakes, and enhance their teaching strategies with technology with the goal of guiding students to take ownership of their learning. She spent 17 years teaching grades 2-5, and as technology evolved began to integrate tech tools into her teaching strategies. This desire led her to become the first Instructional Technology Coordinator at Montverde Academy in which she was responsible for training the faculty during a three-year technology integration plan. Currently, she is an instructor with EdTechTeacher. She has her BS in Education from Florida Atlantic University and earned a MS degree in BrainSMART, a program which applies the latest discoveries in neurosciences to education. She has presented at conferences such as FCIS and FETC, ETTSummitBoston, ETTinnovation Summit SanDiego, and Superior Tech 4 Teachers.

Mason, M. Ed. is an Education Technology National Instructor at EdTechTeacher, Inc., a Google Certified Innovator, and an Ed.D. student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is passionate about helping educators transform teaching and learning through technology integration and closing the digital divide through equitable access to technology for all students.
Designed specifically for the classroom teacher that is getting started in a 1:1 environment or is in the early stages of thoughtful technology integration and implementation. The sessions in the edtechNOW strand will focus specifically on best practices, apps, extensions, tools and resources to build proficiency. Devices and platforms include iPads, Chromebooks, GSuite and more!
